Tom Burk is the President and Managing Broker of Glacier Sotheby’s International Realty. He is a 40-year veteran of residential real estate and is currently, or has recently been, licensed as a Principal Managing Broker or its equivalent in Montana, Washington, Oregon and Alberta, Canada. In addition to Sotheby’s International Realty, Tom has been associated with the REMAX and Coldwell Banker brands as an agent/broker or executive over his long tenure. During that time, Tom has spoken to countless audiences including the National Association of Homebuilder’s International Builders Show, the University of Montana and many Real Estate companies and associations.
First licensed in 1981, Tom built a substantial career providing value for consumers, developers and home builders alike. In 1999, Tom was recognized as one of the top 2 REMAX agents worldwide for transaction volume and was also the top agent in REMAX’s top office, systemwide. Soon after, he left his private real estate practice to enter the renowned Queen's University School of Business MBA program. He completed his studies at Queen’s in 2001.
The following year he was given the opportunity to become CEO of one of America's largest Coldwell Banker companies, located here, in Montana. After several years with Coldwell Banker, Tom took the opportunity to serve as Vice President of the Western Region of Coldwell Banker LLC. and report to its home office located in Madison, New Jersey. Tom’s role was to consult with and assist the 35 largest Coldwell Banker companies in the western United States.
In 2020 Tom was given the opportunity of a lifetime to return to work in his Whitefish home and work with the Tomlinson Group of Companies based in Spokane WA. His role today is as President of Glacier Sotheby's International Realty. Tom’s stated goal for GSIR is simple and clear.
